Scripture
The Scripture is very important to us at Kenosha Family Church.
In almost every service our Praise
Team will take time out from singing to read a selected Scripture passage. In the early church the Scripture was "heard" more than "read." We believe the public reading of Scripture is still an important part of public worship.
While we don't have an "official" version you'll find that we use the New International Version the vast majority of the time. Also the NIV is the version we keep on hand as worship Bibles for those who didn't bring one to the service.
You'll really get a feel for how important we believe the Bible is when our pastor steps up to preach each week. At that time a couple of ushers will move down the aisle to pass out those worship Bibles mentioned above. Pastor will then announce that if anyone doesn't own an NIV of their own they can consider the worship Bible a gift from the church for them to take home and keep. That's how important we think the Scripture is!
Lastly, during the sermon, we project the reference and the page number for those using our worship Bible for passages our pastor reads from.
